No doubt you’ve heard of ClickBank – a friend has probably shown you how Ted earns a 7-figure income selling his woodworking product with ClickBank and a numerologist build an email list of 3 million. 

But as a product owner, have you considered using ClickBank to explode your sales?

Affiliate marketing is a popular sales channel that can help you grow your sales and brand awareness over time.  I recommend that every online entrepreneur should have at least 1 or 2 digital products for sale on their website and on a third-party platform, even if they are just starting out.

Why you should have a fully functional WordPress blog?

Anyone looking to sell a product on the web needs a WordPress blog. 

Because even if you listed your product with ClickBank, selling products on your own website means you have more control of your price, the delivery, and you’ll have less direct competition. 

Also, when you sell products on your own blog, you keep 100% of the profits and can serve your readers and affiliate partners better. And this will help you get recognized as an expert in your niche.

WordPress is the most popular and trusted by thousands of business owners at building their massive brands. And WordPress is a great platform to stay creative with your marketing content for both readers and affiliate partners.

Once you purchase a web hosting and a domain name, you can install WordPress and start using it. 

Now, let’s get down to how to get ClickBank Affiliates to help you boost your sales:

STEP 1: CREATE YOUR DIGITAL PRODUCT

You’ll want to create your eBook, printable bundle, or whatever else that you’re choosing to sell.  

There’s no set rule for organizing your digital product. 

To create an ebook, workbook templates, or printable bundles you can use CanvaMicrosoft Word, or PagesPDFs are likely the most well-known file type for ebooks. Any eBooks or printable bundle can be saved onto your computer in a PDF format. 

And to deliver a video or audio product, you can upload them online (use Google DriveDropboxAmazon S3, or anywhere that allows you to share a file with those who have the link).

STEP 2: ADD YOUR NEW PRODUCT WITH CLICKBANK

To add a new product with ClickBank, head on to “vendor settings”, then click “My Products – go to “Standard Products” –  then click “Product”, click the drop down arrow to select a product type.

STEP 3: SELECT PRODUCT CATEGORY

Select product category (audio, ebook, games, website membership, software, or video).

STEP 4: ASSIGN ITEM NO.

If this is your first product to sell with ClickBank, use 1 as your item number. Like for example, if this is my eleventh product listed with ClickBank, I just indicate “11” as my item number. 

Item numbers also determine the order your products will display in your product table and be used to create pay links. Pay links are URLs buyers click in order to access the product order form to purchase your product. 

You can sell up to 500 different products with ClickBank or test different versions or price points for your existing product. But, you have to use the same HopLink Target URL (the page where affiliates send traffic) for all products in that account.

STEP 5: ADD PRODUCT TITLE

Product title is the title of your product that will be displayed on the ClickBank order form.

STEP 6: ADD PRODUCT IMAGE AND LANGUAGE

Add your product image and select product language, then click Next.

All images that are added to a ClickBank account must go through an approval process.

You can add your product image before or after your product has been approved. 

 

STEP 7: ENTER YOUR PITCH PAGE URL

A Pitch Page is where the sales copy, images, and information for your product is displayed to buyers.

This is also where you will include a pay link for buyers to be directed to an order form. Affiliates will direct potential buyers to these pages through unique referral links (also known as Hoplinks) in their promotional material.

STEP 8: ENTER THANK YOU PAGE URL

A Thank You Page is the page that is displayed after a customer has purchased your product. Customers will only see this page once their purchase has been processed.

For digital product purchases, the Thank You Page will contain the digital product download.

If you don’t have a thank you page, ClickBank can host a digital file for you. All you need to do is tick the box that says “I do not have a Thank You page”, then just drop your file, then click next.

ClickBank supported file types include: .txt, .doc, .mobi, .pdf, .epub, .docx. And the maximum file size is 20 MB.

STEP 9: SELECT CURRENCY & PRICE

The currency that you want to sell your product. 

And product price is the price a consumer pays to purchase your product.

Product pricing is based on how your product is perceived in the market. And once you already put your product price tag, click next.

STEP 10: SETTING CLICKBANK AFFILIATE COMMISSION

Either you can use a default commission rate of 70% or set a custom commission rate. 

The custom commission rate is the percentage of the sale that is paid to the referring affiliate after order processing charges are assessed. It applies to all sales unless you specify a custom commission rate.

You can opt to check or uncheck the box the says “allow commission tiers to override these settings”, then click save & exit.

STEP 11: SUBMIT YOUR PRODUCT FOR APPROVAL

Saving the product in your account does not automatically submit it for approval. After you save a product, you will see the following message below:

“To submit your product, you will need to click on the “Approval Request Required” text. Clicking that text will open the product approval request form. You will need to complete the form to submit the request”.

After you submit the request, your product will be reviewed.

Note: If there are special instructions in order for the ClickBank team to access your product, please make sure you give that information (password or username) in the form. This will ensure a quicker review and approval of your product.

ClickBank business team will make comments on your ticket. 

STEP 12: CHECK PRODUCT STATUS

When your product has been approved, ClickBank will notify you through the ticket system. Their notification will include instructions on how to activate your account. 

Make sure you review those details to complete the activation process. You will not be able to actively sell your product until the activation is complete.

You will see the “APPROVED” status if your product has been approved.

And voila! Your product will be technically ready to be found by ClickBank affiliate marketers to help you promote your product.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, I believe ClickBank to be the best way to quickly find affiliates to exponentially boost your sales because ClickBank’s search and discovery algorithms will help affiliate marketers, bloggers, and influencers find your products.

Without ClickBank, you would have to do affiliate outreach. ClickBank provides the technical infrastructure helping affiliates find you and seamlessly sign up to your affiliate program to start promoting your products.

They offer so much flexibility while taking care of the checkout and payment process that would be a pain to set up separately.

I never had any issues or problems using them, and I love the fact that, unlike other affiliate platforms out there, ClickBank doesn’t charge a monthly membership fee.

You only need to pay a $49.95 one-time activation fee (only if your product has been approved) however, there is a $2.50 pay period processing fee for every payment that is issued to the seller. You can opt to adjust your payment threshold before ClickBank issues a payment to you to lower your total fees.

So it’s safe to say that I’m a huge fan of ClickBank!
